The Bead Chest products are handmade by independent artisans and made from recycled materials such as bottle glass, windows, and others. They are strung on authentic West African raffia and produced in accordance with fair trade principles. These beads are great for jewelry making or can be worn as-is.

The Bead Chest offers a consistent supply, a large variety of colors and sizes, and quick turnaround time. These authentic African beads are made of 100% recycled glass. Master artisans collect used cola bottles, broken windows, and other recycled materials, which are then crushed down into a fine powder before being transformed into these beautiful ethnic beads.

For each unit purchased, customers receive a full 24" strand which consists of approximately 80 beads. Each bead measures approximately 5-7 x 7mm with a hole size of 2mm. Beads are typically strung on cotton or raffia.

These beads are 100% authentic and fair trade. They are handmade by Krobo artisans in Ghana, by Ghanaians, and for the benefit of the Ghanaian people. All procurement is done in abidance of rigorous international fair trade standards, and the artisans are compensated well above market standards, which results in the creation of the best product.
