Behold the world's most eco-friendly beads! Pioneered by members of the Krobo tribe in Ghana, these beautiful recycled glass beads are made using recycled glass bottles. Beer, wine, and cola bottles are crushed down to a fine powder before being recycled into these eco-friendly treasures. Please note that a large majority of The Bead Chest products are handmade, so the tone, brightness, and/or color of the product received may vary from the photo. Additionally, any sizes and/or bead counts mentioned are approximations and may vary up to 10-15% from the stated number.

These authentic African beads are made of 100% recycled glass. Master artisans collect used cola bottles, broken windows, and other recycled materials, which are then crushed down into a fine powder before being transformed into these beautiful ethnic beads. Great for your own necklaces, bracelets, and jewelry, or they can be worn as-is!

For each unit purchased, you will receive a full 26" strand which consists of approximately 55 beads. Each bead measures approximately 10 x 10-11mm with a hole size of 2mm. Beads are typically strung on cotton or raffia, as shown in the photo.
