Recycled Glass Beads for Jewelry Making and Home Decor from Ghana

Behold the world's most eco-friendly beads, pioneered by the Krobo tribe in Ghana. These beautiful recycled glass beads are crafted from crushed glass bottles - beer, wine, and cola bottles meticulously transformed into a fine powder and recycled into these stunning ethnic treasures.

It's important to note that a large majority of The Bead Chest products are handmade, so the tone, brightness, and/or color of the product received may vary slightly from the photo. Additionally, any sizes and/or bead counts mentioned are approximations and may vary up to 10-15% from the stated number.

These authentic African beads are made of 100% recycled glass. Master artisans collect used materials, such as cola bottles and broken windows, which are then crushed down into a fine powder before being transformed into these beautiful beads. Great for your own necklaces, bracelets, and jewelry, or can be worn as-is!

For each unit purchased, you will receive a full 25" strand consisting of approximately 52 beads. Each bead measures approximately 9-10 x 10-11mm with a hole size of 3mm. Beads are typically strung on cotton or raffia, as shown in the photo.
